Monserrate is a mountain that rises to over 3,000 meters above sea level in the very heart of Bogota, the capital city of Colombia. The mountain is also a popular attraction with visitors as it offers spectacular views across the city, particularly at sunset. Once at the top you will find a range of facilities including restaurants and souvenir shops.

The church on the summit of the mountain has been a place of pilgrimage since the 17th century and many thousands each day still make the climb in an act of penance. If you don’t want to tackle the climb to the summit you can also reach it via a funicular train or a cable car that only takes a few minutes.
