The Italian capital of Rome is an extremely popular location to take your tesol course. We are excellently located near to the Vatican and close to transport links to connect you to the countless other must see locations the city has to offer. The modern, comfortable training facilities combined with a large amount of jobs available throughout italy are good enough, but throw the sheer amount of history; culture and wonder to be discovered in Rome and you are guaranteed a memorable experience.

Rome is one of the most fascinating, historically significant cities in the entire world. Here, old meets new, ancient meets the emerging, in an atmosphere that would seduce anyone. Just imagine experiencing a balmy evening and a delicious ice cream, coffee or wine, sitting on the famous Spanish Steps or taking in the Coliseum, one of the modern wonders of the world. This will be a reality when you choose to attend our TESOL course in Rome.

Known as the “Eternal City”, perhaps no other city has contributed as much culture, history or religious significance as Rome. For thousands of years, some of the most famous artists, sculptors, musicians, and political figures the world has ever seen have made their home here and left their mark on the great city. Their influence remains in the form of great landmarks such as the Coliseum, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, the remains of the Roman forum and of course the truly magnificent master piece, the Sistine chapel. There is also of course the Vatican within Rome; the self-regulated home of the Catholic Church houses its own vast array of treasures and intrigue.

Rome has many places to sit and enjoy its fantastic atmosphere. The cities numerous old squares and cobblestone streets are ideal locations for tourists and locals to meet and talk, or enjoy the exquisite Italian cuisine on the many great restaurant terraces. You could forget which decade you are in as you take in this age old tradition.

Modern Rome has established itself alongside it’s illustrious past and it is a great place to sit back and take in the modern Italian culture, known for its elegance and class. The ancient culture and history is a fine backdrop for what is a thriving, passionate, cosmopolitan city.

The historical centre of Rome is very small and localized, making it very easy to take in the more famous attractions on foot. The city itself however, is a lot larger and takes up a sizeable chunk of the west coast of italy. Access to the rest of the city is provided by an excellent, modern public transport service, which will efficiently get you to your destinations.

One of these destinations might be the tranquil, beautiful Mediterranean beaches Rome is close to. Being able to take in the history of Rome and then reflect on it in such a tranquil environment is a pleasure you have to experience.

    Expand white line

Course deposits must be paid to our administrative center. Credit/debit card payments are the fastest and cheapest way to pay, but we also accept payments via Western Union, Pay Pal and bank transfer. While there are no deadlines for a deposit, courses can fill up quickly and your seat will only be reserved after the deposit has been paid.

Once you make your deposit, you will receive an email with an informational packet that provides detailed information about the course and Rome itself.

The balance of course fees are payable on the first day of class and can be made with a credit/debit card or in cash. Alternatively, you can pay the balance via Pay Pal or bank transfer before the first day of class.

Course fees are all-inclusive so you won’t be asked to pay additional costs for course related materials or services. This also includes course moderation and accreditation fees, airport pick-ups* and lifetime job assistance.

    * If you are in our accommodation program, we offer a courtesy pick-up service from Fiumicino airport to your accommodation on the Friday before the beginning of the course from 11.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

We offer apartment accommodation in the city centre and the surrounding area. The apartments are comfortable and simply furnished with equipped kitchens. Blankets and sheets are provided, but bath towels are not. Our apartment accommodation prices start from around 450 € for a single room and 400 € for a shared room.

The accommodation fee is paid to the landlord or landlady directly upon your arrival, in euro and in cash. The landlady or landlord may well ask for a deposit in advance (which will not be refundable if you cancel the booking) but this will be deducted from the final sum you pay upon arrival.

  • What travel documents will I need for italy?

    Expand white line

This information is specific to your country of origin and always subject to change. For the most accurate and current information regarding travel documents to Italy, please contact your nearest Italian consulate. There is also a very good chance that all the information you require (application documents, application fees, duration of processing documents) is available on the embassy’s webpage.

  • What is the course schedule?

    Expand white line

Classes generally begin at 9:30 a.m. and run until 1:30 p.m. during which grammar and theory are discussed. Afternoons are spent planning lessons with our trainers. Trainees then teach their lessons during the afternoons and evenings, possibly until 8:30 p.m.

  • What can I expect during teaching practice?

    Expand white line

Annually, our school has about 900 students of all ages and all levels, so our trainees will have the opportunity to experience all kinds of teaching situations. The students come from many backgrounds, countries (though typically Italy) and work places.

Lessons are based upon real teaching resources found all over the world and you will have the chance to create your own materials as well. You will receive the aid of your course trainer throughout lesson planning and receive immediate feedback on your lesson after it’s been delivered. Practicum is assessed and a satisfactory assessment is required to earn your TEFL/TESOL certificate.

    Expand white line

On average we have about twenty five students enrolled on each program, most of whom are American or British, but we also have students from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa amongst others. Ages range from 20 to 60 years old, although the majority of our students are between 22 and 30 years old.

  • Is there a dress code?

    Expand white line

During trainees’ lessons, casual attire is allowed. During teaching practice, you will need to dress in trousers/skirts and closed-toe shoes. Men need collared shirts, while women need to wear conservative tops that will cover their shoulders. No visible tattoos or facial piercings are allowed while teaching local students.

  • What should I bring for course studies?

    Expand white line

Just like the first day of any other school, you will need some supplies. We will give you your course material and notebook, but you will need to have your own pens and pencils. You may also want scotch tape, a stapler, highlighters, colored pencils and markers, glue, scissors and white-out. You will also need to buy your own paper for the photocopier. All of these materials can be purchased from a store near the school if you do not wish to bring them from home.

Please note that we have wireless internet available at the school for hooking up a laptop but normally there are no phone lines in the accommodation. There are numerous internet facilities all over Rome and should you require a computer for coursework at the school, we have a computer with internet access available in your classroom.
