Pronunciation is the probably the most neglected aspect of english language teaching and this unit covers this aspect. For phonology, definition, intonation and stress are covered. There are three main intonation patterns: rise/ fall, fall/rise, and flat. We will really don’t know what the speaker is trying to say if we don't know where the strong parts of the sentence lies, and fortunately, there are some rules to follow. After that, the phonemic alphabet and and articulation are covered in this unit, one can learn more quickly if he/she knows the phonemic alphabet and a dictionary is very helpful. In terms of articulation, it's about how to form a sound with our mouth and tongues, it can be difficult to teach this and techniques like peer dictation, your own mouth and visuals can be used to teach more effectively.
