Lesson planning is really important, although, this lesson taught me to allow some flexibility in the class. For my previous jobs, we were required to create a lesson plan for each day and submit it prior to the beginning of the week for feedback. We (for the most part) were to stick with what we had provided. This lesson taught me that flexibility is a good thing, especially when the teacher has lost the students (either in understanding or because of boredom!). Following the ESA format seems easy enough when understanding, but when creating a lesson plan it was quite difficult. I was having trouble making an ESA lesson on my own, and also had trouble answering the questions in this quiz!
