Two major topics resonated with me; qualities of a good teacher and a good student.
It is important to provide a “progressive” atmosphere in a class room, this fosters success, willingness to move forward and motivation. Teachers should be, and often are, the main resource students have in the classroom, tying back to the fact that a teacher should be very knowledgeable in the subject material.
Sometimes students do get stuck in a loop and it is important to ease them out of it as they do not yet posses the ability to do so themselves, otherwise, they might internalize bad habits.
It is important to be aware and note the classes progress and set backs. This way, you know what works and what needs more improvements. Also, it’s good to know what students like, classes should also involve fun activities that can be enjoyed by the majority of the class.
Also I felt that managing and organizing come hand-in-hand, and proper class management and organization is key to student success.
Being a learner myself, I have learned to recognize good habits.
I agree that self motivation is a huge part of learning any subject - language especially, as it must be practiced as much as possible. A lot of the actual learning will come from the effort students put forth outside of class.
Students should also be willing to accept error correction - students cannot progress if they do not accept guidance or corrections.
A willingness to ask questions is crucial to success. Students need to ask for help if they are struggling. It is their responsibility to ask for help when needed, otherwise, the teacher may not know.
