Unit 19 - Teaching special groups. This unit focuses on teaching more specialized groups, such as beginners, individual students, children, business people, and monolingual and multilingual classes. The unit classifies beginners as follows: the absolute beginner, the false beginner, the adult beginner, the young beginner, the beginner without Roman alphabet. Then tips for teaching beginners are offered. The unit covers teaching individual students and gives suggestions on how to deal with 1-1 lessons and what activities are suitable for 1-1 lessons. Teaching children is another area that the unit focuses on. The unit also presents teaching business English. There are more and more business people who want to learn English, therefore this market cannot be neglected. Teaching business english can take place in a number of ways: one-to-one, in-company group, in-school group. The lesson presents a needs analysis whose main purpose is to get each participant to state precisely what they use English for in their jobs and what they will need it for in the future. In the final part, the lesson presents the monolingual and the multilingual classes. I feel I have learnt many new things in this lesson, such as: the distinction among the types of beginners, tips for teaching beginners; since I mainly teach individual students, I must say that the suggestions in this section were really of great help for me; I have also learnt new things about teaching children and teaching Business English.
