In this unit we were transported into the dirty dealings of the past and how we express them in our English language. We dove into the past simple and kept diving into the past continuous. We thought the present perfect until I was ready to dive into past perfect and realized I had forgotten my bathing suit in the car and as the past is apt to keep coming I realized that I had not ever purchased a bathing suit and a trip like this would have to be a past perfect continuous. Deja-vu all over again. I think the best way of explaining past tense to students would be through action. Don kicked the soccer ball into the goal. The rigors of learning the language needs to be broken down into relatable terms.
