After completing Chapter 6, I better understand the differences between a simple, continuous and perfect tenses. A simple past tense typically adds -ed to the end of a verb, unless it is irregular. Continuous tenses use the auxiliary verb 'be.' Perfect verbs use 'had.' A combination of 'had and 'be' creates a perfect continuous.
Now that I am understanding these concepts, I think it will be easier to teach them to students. However, there are so many irregular verbs students will have to memorize. It is important for me to find activities that will encourage the practice of these verbs.
