In the thirteenth unit of our ITTT course titled "Teaching Pronunciation & Phonology", we learned about the different techniques for teaching students about pronunciation, phonology and about the different forms that they take as well. In the first section, we defined pronunciation as being the act of verbally speaking or uttering words in the context of a description or a conversation. In the second section, we learned about the definition of phonology which was described as being the science of speech sounds that include the history and the sound changes in the language. In the third section we learned about intonation, which is described as being the variation in the volume and pitch of an entire sentence as opposed to individual words. In the fourth section we learned about stress, which is defined as being the the emphasis on individual words in a sentence as opposed to the entire sentence. In the fifth section we learned about the phonetic alphabet, which is defined as being the set of symbols that are used for phonetic transcription and utilizes the IPA system. In the sixth section we learned about articulation, which is defined as being the act of vocal expression and enunciation in with ones' mouth and vocal cords.
