This unit has reviewed some of the present tenses, along with teaching the future tenses and their usage. Content focused around the seven most frequently used tenses, which are future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, going to future (which is 'be going' plus an infinitive), present simple, and present continuous. The tense system is very complicated, with future being the most challenging, especially because of the going to future tense which can be very similar to the present continuous. Ideas can be formed and help students learn by asking specific questions or providing certain games targeting the tense currently being learned. For example, while teaching the future perfect tense a teacher could ask the class where they imagine themselves in 10, or 20 years and students discuss what they will have achieved so far.
