English Grammar -- Present Simple -- Teaching Ideas 2- TEFL Online

http://www.teflonline.net This video outlines the second of three teaching ideas for the Present Simple tense. The students each have a picture with the title "This is Nicola. Nicola is a student. This is her room." In the picture there are lots of items such as a television, a coffee pot, a guitar....In small groups the students list as many facts about Nicola as possible using the Present Simple. For example, She plays the guitar. She drinks coffee. She watches television. After a specified time the groups come together and share their answers with the class. Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

I enjoyed this unit because it was a nice reprieve from the tense structures that have been the focus of the past few unit.
I like learning about useful skills to use in the classroom that potentially could help and make your students learn quicker in a safe enviromen.
In this unit I learned about the different reasons to lesson plan and different ways to plan lessons, including the meanings of all the different parts of the lesson plan, including the lesson objectives, which state what you want your students to learn during the lesso.
This unit continues to stretch what I know about ESL teachin.
I still feel as though the stages of the lesson can be confusing and would prefer greater clarity as it is frustrating and in addition I paid for the contact a tutor and the did not receive feedback for a da.
