1. Before I took the course I was not as confident in myself and my teaching abilities, while I can directly attribute this problem to a lack of experience and knowledge, this course has alleviated most of my concerns. I feel as though I know myself better and can continue working on improving in the areas that I am weak in. Additionally, I am more aware of the different areas of TEFL/TESOL and feel as though I can adapt to any teaching environment as well as most teaching disciplines, from
young learners to business executives. The amount of knowledge and skills that I have acquired are hard to summarize in a few sentences or paragraphs and I am thankful for the opportunity to learn from such a great program. I will definitely seek out other courses as well as
review the information that was given.
2. I have a very open mind and am willing to accept all cultures so I am open to teach most anywhere in the future, however I do know that I would like to find a place that can fully appreciate my individual contributions to all types of ESL learners. Before taking this course I was more interested in teaching adults, specifically those with a solid business background, now I am more intrigued by teaching
children. Teaching children means that you can utilize the fact that their young minds are perfect for soaking up all of the
material that you are passing on to them. It also means that you are a role model and your
job is to show them how a proper teacher teaches. Ultimately it seems like it is more rewarding a teaching experience, as teaching can be a very unrewarding, self-less task. It would be nice to be able to inspire a few young minds in hopes that they can continue on the path towards becoming something great.
