As one of the world’s oldest cities with a history dating back over 3,000 years, Athens is a major draw for international visitors. The city is also a hotspot for English language teaching jobs, making it equally popular with people looking to take a CELTA training course. During your stay you can explore all the city’s famous landmarks, such as the Acropolis and the Parthenon, and enjoy some of the best beaches in the region. Athens is known for its warm welcome and for being one of the safest capital cities in Europe. It also enjoys a warm and pleasant climate, a rich cultural heritage, and countless outdoor cafes, restaurants and taverns where you can sample the local cuisine at prices that are considerably lower than most other European capitals.
Many trainees who choose Athens as their training center find time before, during, or after their course to visit one or more of the stunning Greek islands that are close by. Santorini and Mykonos are popular as they are only a 30 minute flight away, while Hydra and Spetses are only a two hour journey by hydrofoil.
