What is the TAPIF Program for teaching English in France?
The TAPIF Program stands for Teaching Assistant Program in France. It is a government run initiative that places foreign applicants into state schools to work in the classroom as teaching assistants. Considering that France is often a difficult country for non-EU citizens to get a work visa for, this program is a good option for many people. What are the requirements for the TAPIF Program?
The age range for applicants on this program is between 20 and 35. If accepted, you will work 12 hours per week in up to three different elementary or secondary schools between October 1st and April 30th. You can state your preferences on where you would like to teach on the application form, but there is no guarantee that you will get assigned to any of them. Most positions are within the French mainland, although there are a small number of places available in the overseas regions of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Réunion.
