This unit is about the rules of pronunciation and phonology and how to teach students these. Phonology of English includes several areas: stress, intonation, ryhthm and international phonetic Alphabet. The normal pattern of intonation in a statement is the rise / fall intonation.There are aslo fall/rise pattern,flat pattern to show speakers' emotions.The ways to teach pronunciation are nonsense words,by gesture,humming and singing,draw arrows on the board.Secondly, from different stressm we can implicate different meaning or purposes of statements.The ways how to teach stress are contrasitive stress,by gesture,choral work,the board,and stress marks.
