This unit has made it clear to me how to teach different groups of learners. The different groups are the beginners, individual students, children, business English, and monolingual and multilingual groups. In the beginner group, the students can be further subdivided into absolute beginners, false beginners, adult beginners, young beginners and beginners without the Roman alphabet. This subdivision is interesting as each beginner at their different levels and with different motivation has to be approached differently. When teaching individuals or groups that are too small, I have personally experienced problems arising from lack of classroom dynamics that require me to give a lot of input to help the class move along. Hence, the suggestions for teaching individual students are very helpful to me. My personal experience with teaching children helps me to better grasp the suggestions this unit has offered. And I fully agree that sometimes teaching children is one of the best and possibly more rewarding (and not forgetting fun) experiences. As the unit mentioned, if I ever have to teach Business English, I do not have to be afraid, but to go as a professional in teaching English language, and not to teach them how to do business. Lastly, the content on teaching monolingual or multilingual classes helps me to identify potential problems and advantages of teaching classes with different cultural demographics.
