Unit 8 provided in-depth information on the productive skills (speaking and writing) and their role in the learning process. The unit brought up interesting points on challenges learners may face with writing (handwriting, spelling, punctuation, layout) and hindrances to speaking (confidence, fear, intimidation by peers, disinterest, history, etc). In the sectioned titled "Speaking activities in the classroom", I read information on the 3x3 choral drill that I saw represented in a video from unit 6 (Video 2). Going more in-depth about the difference between accuracy and fluency helped me understand the styles of activities that I can plan for different learner objectives. This unit also helped me generate a lot of thought regarding which games are suited to my style of teaching/facilitation. Another ongoing thought is "Which games would be more challenging for me to utilise due to my teaching style?"
