I think it was quite helpful to have the four skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing) broken up into the categories of receptive skills (reading and listening) and productive skills (speaking and writing). One problem I foresee having a lot of trouble with (and already have encountered) was mentioned when talking about pre-teaching vocabulary, cautioning that students won't feel comfortable with receptive skills until they get past the point of needing to understand ALL the words; I see that a lot with my current assistant language teaching position. It's very common for students to get caught up on not knowing one word and refusing to move on, and I am never quite sure how to handle that when it comes up.
