Speaking and writing are the two other important features of the integrated skills in the classroom. We practise a foreign language and its vocabulary through speaking. It is very crucial that the teacher speaks in the foreign language that s/he is teaching and not switching into the students' language if they are monocultural. That's what happened with our French teacher (she was Albanian) during French hours. She used to talk during the entire class in Albanian and here I am today after 8 years of studying French as a second foreign language, I am not able to produce fluent French. We were not given speaking time. I agree that writing is a challenge for both teachers and students due to differences between languages in several areas; grammar, spelling, pronunciation, layout. In order to practise writing, our English teacher would give us homework; we would choose a topic of our own interest and write down the pros and cons of it. I think writing activities should get more time because it is not only important to speak it fluently unless you don't know how to produce it grammatically correct. games also are very important to be included during the classroom hours. they will create a comfortable environment for the students and arouse their interest to participate in the lesson.
