This unit focused on the four basic skills of language that a student must master. Listening and reading are the receptive skills and speaking and writing are the productive skills.
Each skill requires individual focus, but they all should be included into a course of a lesson for a balanced approach. This unit focuses on receptive skills.
We begin by breaking the receptive skills into types and how to teach those in ways that activate the brain. Moreover, they should be broken into bite size pieces that the student can digest.
Finally, we learn how to incorporate all of this into an ESA lesson format with examples.
