In this unit I have learned about different SLA theories and different teaching methodologies that stem from them, with a particular focus on the Engage, Study, Activate method (ESA). This method is very thorough and covers many aspects that are paramount for the learning of the students ( elicitation, focus on the Target Language, creative use of the language, spontaneous talk etc) although it's centered on students with at least an Intermediate level of English. I think it's adaptable to complete beginners too but the teacher needs to be very careful with that, because if the bar is set too high the students ( especially the young ones) will find the class extremely boring, they will quickly lose focus and the preparation of the class won't bear the fruit that the teacher was hoping for.
