In Unit 9, Coursebooks and Lessons Materials, we are taught the different types of learning materials a teacher should be using when teaching his or her class such as: Coursebooks, Authentic Materials (Menus,Brochures,Magazines,etc). Each type of learning content brings its own inherent advatedges and disadvantages. For example, while a coursebook may contain structured and organized lessons, a student group could find it particularly boring. On the other hand, while a magazine could be perceived as more fun for the students to engage with, it may ultimately prove to difficult for beginner students to understand.
In conclusion, a good English teacher must be aware of his or her students learning needs. Once you assess the skill level and personality of your students, a good teacher must organize his/her lesson plan based on content that will most likely directly benefit his or her students for both educational and amusement purposes.
