This units shows some difficulties which can appear in the teaching process and the ways how to deal with them. There may be some problems when teaching a new group. It is vital to establish rapport between the teacher and the students as soon as possible during the very first lesson. Also it can be necessary to have the students know each other if they are in the new group. For this matter there are lots of activities which can help students interact with each other and with the teacher as well.
Another problem for teachers is a different level of students in one group. In this case the teacher needs to prepare more worksheets to give some extra tasks for those who were able to finish the previous task faster than the others. It is also possible to divide the students into two groups: the stronger and the weaker one. But it requires a lot of attention from the teacher to both groups. One more option how to deal with such a problem is to pair the stronger and the weaker student so that the first can help his partner.
Teachers will always have different problems in their classes but this is a part and parcel of teaching - to be able to deal with them and stay calm, confident, and helpful.
