This unit talks about the two productive skills which are; Speaking and Writing. It states the difference between acurracy activities and fluency activities and the stages where they appear in a lesson; that is, acurracy activiities come in the Study stage while fluency activities come in the Activate stage. The unit goes ahead to list some speaking activities such as controlled activities, guided activities, creative communication and many others and, techniques used to encourage students' interaction in class.The unit presents a sample of both a creative speaking activity lesson and acreative writing lesson. It gives guidelines to follow when preparing a free/creative speaking activity and factors to consider during a writing exercise. The unit concludes with the different types of games used to create fun and stimulate the class.
What i have gain from this unit is the stage for accuracy activity (Study stage) and that of fluency activity ( Activate stage). I have also acquired the techniques used to ebcourage interaction in class and guidelines to follow when planning a creative speaking activity.
