This unit covered information concerning aspects of teachers and learners and the delicate and intricate relationship between them. It began by explaining different roles of a teacher. The position of a teacher is a unique one, you are both an active member of the class as well as a supervisor of the activities. Some teachers lean to heavily (or become comfortable) with just one teaching style or role. Theses teachers either have an overbearing control of the room and stifle learning or are too concerned with maintaining the energy and little real learning is achieved. I think it is best to mix up your teaching styles: be both a reliable manager and an enthusiastic facilitator. However, the burden of education does not rest solely of the shoulders of the teacher, the student must also be participating and willing to learn. The second half of the unit covered different aspect of the students. It is vital to the learning posses to understand and relate to your students. Little (or no) learning can be possible if the students are unmotivated, bored, or uninterested in the material. Of course learning level (beginner to advanced), age, past education, and other personal factors must be taken into account.
