I found this unit very challenging but fascinating as it taught me all about the way we pronounce words, and how this can be articulated to students in order to optimise their pronunciation of the English language. I hadn't considered pronunciation as a vital element in teaching English but I now see that it is, and should be given attention so that students can understand how to be clear in their spoken communication. The phonetic script has also taught me a lot and made me think about the way speaking relates to our written language.
