Phrasals are probably some of the trickiest parts of the English language, even for native speakers. I often hear native speakers using them wrong. For that matter, native speakers often get modal auxiliary verbs wrong! I can see how this section would be very difficult for a non-native to master. Fortunately, as they are so tricky, most native speakers won't notice a mistake between can/may or could/would from an EFL student. I did like the idea of teaching phrasal verbs as vocab words, rather than grammar rules. That kind of thinking might be applied to the tricky phrases throughout this unit.
