This unit has been about teaching special groups. The first group mentioned was teaching beginners, which included tips for teaching beginners, possible problems, and motivational aspects. Then it dealt with teaching individual students as in one-on-one lessons, including advantages and disadvantages, suitable activities, homework and checking. The next category was teaching children, first dealing with early age children and then classroom age children. This included lesson DOs and DON'Ts, class discipline/management and some DON'Ts to bear in mind. Next came business English and ESP, and went into detail about who the "clients" were, what theynened, a needs analysis and planning of the course, including a Needs Analysis form, planning the program. mid-course evaluation, materials and things to consider. It concluded by talking about the monolingual and multilingual class, and avoiding the use of the mother-tongue in the classroom of a monolingual class. I particularly enjoyed the tips for teaching children, both the early age learners and the classroom age children.
