Use of phonetics and pronunciation can help students with their speech patterns when saying words or sentences. Intonation is something that should be taken into lessons when dealing with non-English speakers as this can help them produce words and sentences in a clear and concise manner. From stressing of words and phrases such as " They have gone fishing with friends"to sound joining "i scream/ ice cream" and even linked speech "whatcha wanna do." Articulation has to do with the way our mouths form shapes to make sounds in speech such as placing ones hand on their throat and saying bat and pat or feeling the placement of the tongue when saying sled and zipper. These two items can be used effectively to help engage a classroom in a days lesson to enhance word and sentence use.
