I found this chapter to be reminiscent of when I was in college and creating lengthly lesson plans frequently. However, it was interesting to me that the "age of students" was not considered something that must be included in the lesson plan, as it was something I needed to include in all of my university lesson plans. However, something that was different from my lesson plans in college is that these need to include which phase of the lesson the activity is in: engage, study, or activate. I needed to use my previous knowledge, experience, and information regarding ESA lesson plans in order to think of interesting activities for each component of the lesson plan. Another thing that was different about the proposed lesson plan format was thinking about the timing of each activity. Typically, I teach the students in my class for a prolonged block period, and therefore have more liberty with time. However, I can see how planning the timing of a lesson and how long each activity will/could take would be beneficial for my time management and in making sure the students are getting the most they can out of the lesson. Overall, I found this chapter to be stimulating and challenging because I needed to use a lot of prior knowledge from previous chapters in the course.
