Building a good rapport is first and foremost, as this will have a big impact on the view the students have of you as a teacher (first impressions last the longest). The use of warmers can aid this as it gives the students a chance to interact and discover new facts about you and their peers. As stated in previous units it is important to limit your usage of the students' native language. Dealing with reluctant students is an important area to address. Care needs to be taken so as not to further discourage them. Pairing and role-play are effective means of dealing with such students as it involves them and hopefully encourages overall participation.
