This unit allows us to reflect on different ways and strategies for managing classes. However, in my opinion, at the core of it all lies respect for students and school. A teacher needs to consider the students' needs, preferences and cultural backgrounds when working on the seating arrangements, creating appropriate gestures to communicate the meaning, and figuring out what position to take during various stages of the lesson. Putting some thought into helping the learners with maximum efficiency goes a long way. It is vital not to appear discouraging or rude, no matter what age is being taught. Having mentioned that, this unit also solidifies our knowledge of classroom management with some of the useful insights into reducing teacher talk time and dealing with problem behavior.
