This unit is about future tenses.I find these ‘tense’ units challenging to go through. It will take a lot of practice to become comfortable with these sections.
The seven most common future tensss are:
1. Future simple. Ie. I’ll pick you up later.
2. Future continuous. Ie. I’ll be getting on the train at 5 pm.
3. Future perfect. Ie. I’ll have finished my exams by Monday.
4. Future perfect continuous. Ie. He’ll have been driving for two hours before he reaches Paris.
5. Be going + infinitive. Ie. Its going to rain later.
6. Present simple. Ie. The train leaves platform five in 10 minutes.
7. Present continuous. Ie. I’m meeting her for coffee tomorrow.
Forms 5 and 7 above, are the most commonly used. The area of future tenses is very complex and can be challenging for students. Time spent in the activate Part of lessons will help the students a lot. There are some great ideas for games and discussions listed in this unit.
