This unit covers the framework for the method of teaching we will be using in our classrooms; Engage, Study, Activate (ESA). In order to effectively teach English students, we should adhere to this teaching method. The engage phase is meant to engage students and introduce the language topic in a fun way using games, music, videos, etc. The study phase begins with elicitation and requires that students focus on the construction of the language. The activate stage encourages students to use all the information they have been given throughout the lesson and put it to use through activities such as role play, communication games, or debates. All ESA lessons must begin with an engage stage and end with an activate stage. It is important to keep in mind the learning level and culture of the students when preparing lessons.
