This unit addresses the need to evaluate and test the students. some of the ways to assess their language levels include - Student Evaluation (where they talk about how they feel about the course or answer a questionnaire); Tutorials and Tests. Teachers prefer to have short regular tests and leave the longer more formal test to given towards the end of the Term/ course. They also prefer a system of continuous evaluation to multiple testing sessions. Tests include - Placement Tests; Diagnostic Tests, Progress Tests and Practice Tests which prepare the students for the standards, format and structure of External Examinations. Some of these are - TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC and tests from Cambridge Assessment
