This chapter is about past tense. The system and structure of past tenses is not too different from present tenses, except that past tenses relate to past time periods. Past Simple: Past simple is used for a past action when the time is given or when the time is asked about. or Usually when the action took place at a definite time even though this time is not mentioned. Past Continuous: It can express an action, which began before that time and probably continued after it. Past Perfect: It represents actions that occurred before other actions in the past. Past Perfect Continuous: It is used to talk about longer actions or situations in the past that had been going on continuously up to the past moment that we are thinking about.
