In this unit, I learnt that there are two different types of materials: authentic and created. I tend to use created materials for my class, but this unit study reminded me using authentic materials such as newspapers, menus and poems is also very useful and increases students' motivation. Also, I could learn advantages and disadvantages of using a course book. Moreover, I have come to realize creating a balanced class; for example, using both created and authentic materials is one of the most important things to improve teaching quality.
