Unit 16 focused on two complex grammatical structures - conditionals and reported speech. Regarding conditions, the unit outlined the fives types of conditionals as well as their uses. It also gave excellent suggestions for activities to incorporate into lessons to help students learn the different kinds of conditions. This is especially important because students often struggle to differentiate between the types of conditional. Regarding reported speech, the unit explained the various changes that occur in reported speech, as well as some activities that could help students grasp this structure. However, because reported speech requires so many moving parts and changes, the unit does a good job of making it clear this is a concept for higher level students and one that must be taught slowly.
