This unit covers phonology. It explains the differences between intonation and articulation. It covers stress, the phonetic alphabet, placement of articulation. I found this unit very challenging because I have not learned the phonetic symbols. The translation of phonetic to English is something I will continue to work on. I appreciated the refresher course in how to make the sounds as well as the examples to demonstrate the differences to students (such as putting your hand over your throat to feel the vibrations).
