In unit 1, I discovered that a teacher needs to know the characteristic of a good teacher and a good learner.I found out that a good teacher should has these qualities :-
-kind and patient
-really love teaching
-lively and entertaining
-motivates learners
-has a good subject knowledge
-good rapport and interaction in the class
-able to involve all students equally through lessons
-able to correct students without offending them
- knows the student's weaknesses and provides helps or individual attention to them
As for the learners, these are the qualities that expected to be achieved by the end of the day:-
-willingness to listen to the language
-desire to experiment with the language
-love asking questions
-ability to think about their own learning process and methods
-accepting their mistakes and willing to learn
In this unit, I also learned that a teacher plays certain roles during the teaching and learning process such as manager( controller),organizer, assessor,prompter, participant,tutor, facilitator,model and monitor in order to make the lesson fun, meaningful and successful.
As a teacher, I should be able to know the level of my student such as starter(beginner), elementary,pre- intermediate, intermediate , upper intermediate and advanced so that I can plan a suitable activities that will suit their level and interest.
