What I've learned is the intricate parts of the past tenses in this unit. It's understood that using different pretenses and words will change the way the sentence is laid out. For example, for past perfect you are first stating and action that happened in the past then stating an action that was completed before that. By adding had and adding -ed to the verb it creates this type of sentence. Also the past perfect continuous was a bit confusing in the way it's explained because it's very similar to the past continuous. The big difference here is the length of time that happened in the past regardless if it's still happening now.
