This unit focused on using themes such as: music, games, art, and drama to present information and teach content to students in a fun and meaningful way. Using music in the classroom can be very effective for memorization along with improving speaking skills such as, pronunciation, stress, intonation, and rhythm. When teachers use music they should also try to incorporate kinasethetic movement which is said to improve learning. It is also important for teachers to know what works for their young learners and their older young learners when it comes to music. The unit then covered how games can be incorporated in the classroom. When looking at using games in the classroom. Teachers should start with the teaching points of the lesson and then decide which game or games can be modified to cover that point. There are also many benefits to using stories in the classroom such as: building vocabulary, motivating students, good for modeling different writing styles, and also developing all four skills. Another point covered in this unit was Howard Gardner's theory on multiple intelligences. Each intelligence was defined with examples and then there were also activities listed that would be beneficial for a student in each of the categories of different intelligences.
