This unit provided a brief overview of learning and behavior theories. I read about differences between native language acquisition and language learning. Ways to structure a lesson, with 3 main stages, of ‘engage’, ‘ study’ and ‘activate’. I considered ways to set up the classroom. I also read about the differences in the two age groups, and how the student’s develop, as they get older.
The 3 stages of the lesson, give me a new way to think about lesson planning, and can affect how I plan a lesson.
