Again, like the present tense I found this a little confusing particularly being able to reduce the definitions down to a single simple sentence (as some the questions above do- which kind of added to my confusion more). I definitely feel that the tenses need to be worded in possibly a less confusing way to ensure that the idea and point of each tense can be easily grappled with by native speakers who want to be able to teach this effectively. Native speakers intuitively know where to put each tense to being able to teach it requires a greater understanding that I feel some of the wordings increase confusion rather than understanding.
