I learned about modal, phrase verbs and passive voice and how they are used in sentences. Modals can be used to show obligation, possibility/probability, permission/prohibition, ability and advice. Modal auxiliary verbs can also be used to express different degrees of formality. Different teaching ideas can be to role play expressing advice, rules and regulations or signs, such as traffic, school or societal rules. In passive voice, the object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb, where both sentences can mean the same thing, but the focus is different. For relative clauses, there are independent, dependent and relative clauses. Also, phrasal verbs, there are intransitive, transitive separable and transitive inseparable.
