Productive skills are speaking and writing. We use the language that we have acquired and produce a message through speech or written text that we want others to understand. I have learned the difference of accuracy from fluency and they are equally important in teaching new language. Also, I learned to incorporate games to motivate the interest of the students and create a stimulating environment inside the classroom.
A teacher can encourage students to speak and interact during a lesson by; giving a clear instruction on how will they do activity, giving them rewards or praise if someone answers correctly or try his/her best to answer, adding surprises in all lessons through gap filling activities or eliciting a target language, creating various activities and having a friendly competitions through group works.
A teacher can generate interest in topics by using pictures or images, it can be draw in the board or by creating flash cards. Show them real objects or mime it during guessing games. Using quotes or a sentence for discussion and gap filling activities. Creating a list, for surveys or rankings, for example, "What animals can you see in the zoo?" and incorporating games.
