There are four types of present tense: present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. In this unit I have learned the usage, forms, typical student's error and some activate teaching ideas. I have a summary of the facts that I have learned on the following;
Present Simple - actions that are general facts/truths, happens all the time or habitually. Statement is always true. Should also note the forms of the verbs specifically irregular verbs.
Present Continuous - actions that are happening now, -ing form is used.
Present Perfect - actions in the past with present results, used with past participle. Also, some verbs have different spelling in their past participle form.
Present Perfect Continuous - actions that are recently finished with present results. The used of have + been + -ing form of the verbs.
On study stage, the teacher should take into consideration about what the mistake is? Why it has been made? How to explain and correct the mistake?
As learned from the previous unit, the students should build their fluency at the ac4ivate stage. The teacher should also consider the timings, ages, language levels, class sizes, and cultures in order to maximize the students' talk time.
