This type of content is really useful for native English speakers to review. Although we obviously speak every day, most native English speakers have never put serious thought into how we actually make sounds. It can be an interesting exercise to prompt students to examine pronunciation in their native tongue to try to identify the differences that make English difficult for them. The IPA in particular is pretty important for ESL teachers. Although we rarely teach with it, it can be a bit embarrassing when students ask questions about specific pronunciation and we are unable to respond with what they expect.
