I have learnt in the section of ''Modals, Phrasal Verbs and Passive Voice'' about a modal which is a type of auxiliary (helping) verb that is used to express: ability, possibility, permission or obligation and about their explanations and usage forms. Can/could/be able to,may/might,should,must/have to,would are modal verbs.Besides this, I have leant about a phrasal verb is a verb combined with a preposition or adverb (or both) that means something different from each of the words that make up the verb. There are two types of phrasal verbs. Separable phrasal verbs can be broken up by other words, while inseparable phrasal verbs cannot be separated by other words.However,intransitive verbs cannot have a direct object after them.The subject is doing the action of the verb and nothing receives the action. An intransitive verb does not pass the action to an object.Then,the passive voice is used to show interest in the person or object that experiences an action rather than the person or object that performs the action. In other words, the most important thing or person becomes the subject of the sentence.Sometimes we use the passive voice because we don't know or do not want to express who performed the action.If we want to say who or what performs the action while using the passive voice, we use the preposition by. When we know who performed the action and are interested in him, it is always better to switch to the active voice instead.
