In this unit I learned about teaching receptive skills. This unit focused on the receptivity of students mainly when listening and reading. All four areas of receptivity are equally important for a student to learn a new language. These areas are speaking, listening, writing, and reading. It is important to know that when students can read the text they have more opportunity to understand because they can refer back to the text and read it many times. While listening though it can be difficult because they only have one chance to hear it. I also learned that it is important to choose topics that are well rounded to suit an entire classroom of students.
